Shiva Mandir is a Colorado nonprofit organization whose purpose is to foster study & application of Vedic traditions. Shiva Mandir does not represent any specific teacher or denomination but supports and upholds all traditions that value the transcendental aspect of life. The gatherings are small and friendly and each person is encouraged to participate as they like. Shiva Mandir was founded 11 years ago and is located in a turn-of-the-century Victorian house near I-25 & South Broadway in Denver. You are always welcome!

LUNAR OBSERVANCES
(For all Lunar Observances, please bring a fruit or flower. All Lunar Observances are held at Shiva Mandir, 1391 S. Pennsylvania, Denver, 303-722-3658. Donations are appreciated)
Friday, August 1, 7-9 pm. New Moon Fire Puja and Shiva Abhishek. The darkness of the new moon is an ideal time to create a protective influence and germinate new projects. The New Moon energy is presided over by Lord Shiva.
The Abhishek or ritual bathing of the Shiva Lingam is most powerfully done at New Moon and creates an influence of purification and clarity.
Saturday, August 16, 7-9 pm. Full Moon Puja. All are invited to this Full Moon fire puja with Chinello and Nadira Haney. The Full Moon is called Purnima and is presided over by the energies of Mother Divine. The energies of the Full Moon help st rengthen mental and emotional function, and are soothing and nourishing. Please bring a coconut and a fruit or flower. Donations are appreciated.
Saturday. August 30, 7-9 pm. New Moon Fire Puja and Shiva Abhishek When two new moons occur in a month, the second is called a 'dark moon.' The new moon is also sometimes called the dark moon - at this phase there is no illumination on the earth's side. There will be an Abhishek or ritual bathing of the Shiva Lingam.

ANCIENT KNOWLEDGE FOR A MILLENIUM The following presentation is to acquaint the Western mind with the roots of Vedic and Yogic teaching. For those wishing to explore this tradition, we will cover precepts of general interest. This topic will form a foundation of understanding for the new student of Sri Kaleshwar. Classes are taught by Sandra Clark, Channing Johnson and Nafeeah Kim, registered teachers for Sri Kaleshwar. (Please bring a fruit or flower to these events. Suggested donation, $18.
