Vedic Studies

The Vedas are an ancient body of knowledge dating back at least 5,000 years from the lands of what is now known as India and the Middle East. Many of the world’s traditions trace their origins back to the Vedas and all systems of yogic knowledge descend from the Vedas. The Vedas are preserved in the oldest known texts on earth and have given rise to a continuous investigation into the nature of life and consciousness.

Dhanur Veda:
Exploring Vedic Ideals of Government & Military Science

The Shiva Sai Mandir University for Vedic & Yogic Studies Winter 2017 Course of Study

During this course we will gain an appreciation of how every national leader, regardless of politics, is an unfailingly accurate reflection of the collective consciousness of their nation. We will also learn how every single citizen has the capacity to direct outcomes in government, society and the military from within their own inner awareness, intention and meditation power. This will give us an expanded and optimistic perspective on current events as well as practical things we can do to improve our society.

At this time in history, all around the world governments are in upheaval; transitioning, collapsing and transforming. No government of this age has lived up to its ideals and no military has been able to guarantee the security and safety of its citizens.

From the ancient knowledge of the Vedas are solutions to these modern dilemmas: using the same administrative power for government that nature uses to administrate the cosmos. And employing military strategies that are based on the power to uphold and defend life rather than destroy it through war. In this course we will explore Dhanur Veda – the text on military science and Atharva Veda – the text including governmental administration and law.
