Skanda Sashti is a monthly holiday marking the bright fortnight – Sashti Pithi. It is a day to celebrate Skanda, the younger brother of Ganesha and the nephew of Narada. Skanda goes by many names including Lord Muruga, Kartikeya, Kumara, Shanmukha and Subramanyam. Skanda is an embodiment of youthful valor and strength, happiness and knowledge. Shiva Mandir will hold a special evening puja honoring Skanda for the protection and well-being of all.
Sri Lalita Pujas
The Full Moon brings an increase in Mother Divine energy. Performing a Lalita puja and learning the recitation of Lalita Sahasranaama (1008 names of Mother Divine) will increase spiritual and physical energy and bring blessings of abundance. This observance is facilitated by Julie Lear, an advanced student of Vedic Studies. This group meets near or on the Full Moon of each month. Contact Shiva Sai Mandir, 303-722-3658, to confirm meeting date and time.
